Beverly Hills High School, Century City, California, USA

Beverly Hills High School (usually abbreviated as "Beverly" or rarely as "BHHS") is the only major public high school in Beverly Hills, California. (The other public high school in Beverly Hills, Moreno High School, is a small alternative school located on Beverly's campus.) Beverly is part of the Beverly Hills Unified School District and is located on the west side of Beverly Hills, at the border of the Century City area of Los Angeles. Beverly was founded in 1927.

About 2400 students currently attend Beverly Hills High School. About 35% of Beverly's current student body were not born in the United States, and over half of Beverly's students speak a first language other than English. Many of these students are from Iran, or are of Iranian descent. There are also many students from South Korea, Israel, and Russia, as well as from many other countries and language backgrounds.

Silesian Sejm (Sejm being a Polish word for parliament) was the governing body of the Autonomous Silesian Voivodeship, an autonomous Voivodeship of Second Polish Republic between 1920 and 1939. It was elected in democratic elections and had certain influence over the usage of taxes collected in Silesia. It consisted of 48 deputies.

The Oslo City Hall, Oslo, Norway

The Oslo City Hall houses the City Council, City administration, and art studios and galleries. The construction started in 1931, but was paused by the outbreak of World War II, before the official inauguration in 1950. Its characteristic architecture, artworks, and the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony makes it one of Oslo's most famous buildings. It was designed by Arnstein Arneberg and Magnus Poulsson.

It is situated in Pipervika in central downtown Oslo. The area was completely renovated and rebuilt to make room for the new City Hall, back in the late 1920's.

Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles, USA

Griffith Observatory is located in Los Angeles, California, United States. Sitting on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood in L.A.'s Griffith Park, it commands a view of downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood as far as the Pacific Ocean. The observatory is a favorite attraction for tourists and locals alike, and features an extensive array of space- and science-related displays. The Galactic Gala, The grand re-openning for the Observatory will be held on October 29th, 2006.

The land on which the observatory sits was donated to the City of Los Angeles by Col. Griffith J. Griffith in 1896. In his will, Griffith donated funds to build an observatory, exhibit hall, and planetarium on the donated land. Construction began on June 20, 1933 using a design developed by architect John C. Austin based on preliminary sketches by Russell W. Porter. The observatory and accompanying exhibits were officially opened on May 14, 1935. In its first five days of operation the observatory logged more than 13,000 visitors. Dinsmore Alter was the museum's director in its first years.
