Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa is a multi-use stadium in Quito, Ecuador. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 45,000. The stadium was built in 1951. At this venue, Ecuador has beaten Brasil twice, Paraguay twice, and Argentina once, amongst others, securing their positions in Japan/Korea 2002 and Germany 2006. During the preliminatories for Germany 2006 Ecuador remained undefeated in this stadium.
