Carentan, France

Carentan is a town and commune of the Manche département in Normandy, France. It is also the chief town of the canton of Carentan in the arrondissement of Saint-Lô. This town is known by many as the site of a famous battle in WWII.

Carentan has been featured on many World War 2 themed games and TV series, including the computer games Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 as a multiplayer map and Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30 and Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood. Carentan was also featured in the BBC/HBO WW2 series Band of Brothers.
