February 28th, 2007 / / Links: Google Earth, Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps, Virtual Earth / Nearest placesPole Mokotowskie (often the plural form Pola Mokotowskie is used, but the proper form is singular one) is a big park in Warsaw. Part of it is named Józef Piłsudski's Park.
Located in between the areas of Mokotów and the city centre, the park is currently one of the biggest in Warsaw. Until World War II major part of the park was occupied by an airfield and Warsaw University of Technology aircraft works. Pole Mokotowskie was also the seat of Warsaw Airport (until 1934) and Warsaw Horse Racing Track (until 1939).
Currently the place is famous for its bars and pubs as well as for Polish National Library located there. There is also a Warsaw Metro station, named Pole Mokotowskie, located just south of the park.

Al Faisaliyah Center, Rijad, Saudi Arabia

Maps, Virtual Earth / Nearest placesThe Al Faisaliyah Center was the first skyscraper constructed in Saudi Arabia, and the second tallest building in the country after the Kingdom Center. The golden ball that lies atop the tower is said to be inspired by a ballpoint pen. Inside the ball is a restaurant; at ground level, there is a shopping center with major world brands.
The tower was designed by UK based architects Foster and Partners and engineers Buro Happold.
The tower is part of a larger complex, the Al Faisalyah Complex, which consists of a hotel, the tower, and two other buildings.

Menara Telekom, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

It is 310m (1017ft), has 55 floors, and shaped to represent a sprouting "bamboo shoot". It is located along the Federal Highway, Sprint Expressway and Jalan Pantai Baru and is served by the Rapid KL Kerinchi LRT station. It was designed by Hijjas Kasturi Associates and was constructed between 1998 and 2001 by PECD Berhad.
The complex also includes a theatre able to seat a 2,500 audience, a large prayer hall (surau) and a sports facility. A unique feature of the tower is its 22 open skygardens alternating every three floors. The office floors are separated into north and south wings served by express double-deck elevators.
Near the building is Kerinchi Pylon the tallest electricity pylon in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
Langham Place Office Tower, Hong Kong

Maps, Virtual Earth / Nearest placesLangham Place Office Tower is a 255.1 metre (837 foot) tall skyscraper located in Langham Place complex in Mongkok district in Kowloon, Hong Kong, China. The 59 storey tower was completed in 2004 after beginning construction in 1999 under the design of Wong & Ouyang (HK) and The Jerde Partnership.
As well as being the tallest building in Kowloon, the Langham Place Office Tower is the 90th tallest existing building in the world when measured up to the highest architectural point which is the dome.
The tower has 59 floors above ground and 5 underground floors which are used as a car park. The floors which are above ground contain offices.
The entire tower is covered in light-reflecting blue glass which is separated at two intervals by grey glass. The tower's dome illuminates at night on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in a light show where it slowly changes colour.
Sorrento - residential complex, Hong Kong

At 256 metres (841 feet) with 75 floors, it is the tallest residential building of Hong Kong, and fifth-tallest residential building in the world.
Located at the MTR Kowloon Station, Sorrento is comprised of five towers with ascending height. Units are usually sold for between HK$6,000 and HK$10,000 per square foot. Completed in 2003, it was built by the Wharf Estate Development Ltd. and MTR Corporation.
All five towers were designed by Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd and follow the same design however reduced in height consecutively with the tallest being Sorrento 1 and the shortest being Sorrento 6. There is no Sorrento 4, because "4" sounds like "death" in Cantonese. There is a gap between Sorrento 2 and Sorrento 3, where a foot bridge is built to connect the Sorrento residential complex to the MTR Kowloon Station.
